The Hungarian National Bank has just published its latest data on cash usage in Hungary. There are currently 725 million HUF bank notes and 2.6 billion HUF coins in use, worth HUF 9.125 billion in total. The most popular pieces are the HUF 20,000 notes and the HUF 5 coins, so the pieces of the highest and lowest value.

EES is finally going live in October 2025

The European Entry/Exit System (EES) has been in the works for years. Now it seems the wait is over, and gradual rollout will finally start on October 12, 2025, in Estonia. Other member states will follow suit one by one, and the process should be completed by April 2026.
