Hungarian Citizenship
Hungarikum is an umbrella term for things that are distinctly Hungarian and that are worth recognition and protection – things we can be proud of. It is also a legal category, since it depends on the Hungarikum Committee to decide whether a specific food, plant, animal, custom, or invention is allowed to be called a Hungarikum.

Now the Italian Constitutional Court has confirmed the law, which will stay in force for the foreseeable future. This comes as a blow to many who hoped to get Italian citizenship and thereby gain access to Europe – but there may still be options for you within the EU.

Our first Christmas in Hungary barely felt real. We arrived in late November 2017, wide eyed from uprooting our lives, when the Christmas markets suddenly burst into full festive colour.
