Marriage
You and your partner can get married in Hungary if both of you are legally competent adults (above 18). You will need a civil ceremony with a representative of the registrar’s office as the officiant; having a religious ceremony is optional. The process is more or less the same for Hungarian and foreign couples, although it takes longer for foreigners because they will need additional documents to prove there are no legal obstacles to the marriage.

If you have been married to a Hungarian citizen for some time, you might be eligible for Hungarian citizenship in simplified naturalization, similar to the procedure required when you apply for citizenship based on your Hungarian ancestry.
